BARCELONA , Spain, Feb. 28, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — At the “Huawei Product & Solution Launch 2024″ session taking place at MWC Barcelona 2024, Bruno Zhang , CTO, Huawei Cloud , said, ” Huawei Cloud is committed to building a smart cloud computing foundation for the industry telecommunications, as well as accelerating the presence of smart technology in various industries with systematic innovations that include ‘AI for Cloud’ and ‘Cloud for AI’.”
“AI for Cloud”: Transforming Industries with the Pangu Model
Huawei Cloud Pangu models power advanced upgrades across a wide range of industries and cloud computing applications.
According to Zhang, clients in the telecommunications industry have already implemented such AI models. Pangu’s R&D model helps application developers create programming code with just one try, and carry out tests ( test cases ) with just one click. The Pangu telecommunications model automatically resolves network failures in just minutes. The Pangu virtual human model also has lip sync accuracy of up to 95% when providing customer service and livestreaming . These models will become more complete.
“Cloud for AI”: Meeting Challenges with Systematic Innovation
So that the telecommunications industry can build a smart cloud computing infrastructure, Huawei Cloud provides a series of solutions consisting of AI-native storage , GaussDB, AI-data convergence, distributed QingTian architecture. This suite of solutions is implemented and deployed across cloud computing, networks, edge , and devices.
• AI Native Storage : High-capacity broadband, high concurrency, and low latency for AI base models Training AI base models requires up to hexabytes of data. Huawei Cloud easily addresses these needs with three approaches. First, the EMS memory service stores petabyte-sized parameters with ultra-large bandwidth of up to 220 TB and ultra-low latency of down to microseconds. Second, the SFS Turbo cache service has high throughput and concurrency. With IOPS reaching tens of millions, the preparation stage for one billion data no longer takes 100 hours, now only takes five hours. Third, a knowledge lake built on Object Storage Service (OBS) saves training and inference data storage costs by up to 30%.
• GaussDB: A sophisticated data bank ( database ) that helps operators process data efficiently and safely GaussDB is a company-standard distributed data bank with more than 100,000 nodes . For service availability, GaussDB guarantees good consistency on multiple clusters with zero RPO. For security, GaussDB is CC EAL4+ certified, the highest level in the industry. For automation, GaussDB provides integrated tools to convert and migrate 95% of common syntax.
• AI-Data convergence platform : A good data foundation for AI base models Data plays a major role in AI base models. To develop a specific telecommunication model, data from BSS, OSS, and MSS domains must be combined in one data lake . Huawei Cloud ‘s AI-data convergence platform is a good data foundation for these models. With LakeFormation, a single copy of data can be shared without migration. With DataArts Studio, AI scientists obtain high-quality, regulatory-compliant data. Finally, three pipelines – DataArts, ModelArts, and CodeArts – organize and schedule data and AI workflows to enable online AI model training and inference according to real-time data .
• The industry’s first multi-cloud implementation model , as well as a Cloud on Cloud solution . All the features of the Pangu model and the cloud computing services supported by Pangu are designed specifically for each client so that they can be implemented on a public cloud , dedicated cloud , or hybrid cloud . For example, telecommunications companies can build and run custom AI platforms and underlying models in pre-deployed data centers using Huawei Cloud Stack , a hybrid cloud .
Huawei Cloud also offers consulting services, integrated operational activities, and integrated migration services via Cloud on Cloud solutions .
In closing, Zhang described Huawei Cloud’s commitment to shared success. Shared technology is available via 150,000 APIs. The shared experience stems from Huawei Cloud’s work serving more than three million global clients. And, the shared ecosystem now includes 10,000 KooGalleries. These efforts help operators build B2B services and capture opportunities to remain competitive.
