Instagram is introducing yet another update to how creators can engage with their followers. Being tested on its ‘design’ account, the feature will allow creators to offer a hint regarding what the code could be so the users can unlock the reel.
It’s a fun little twist that could transform and even elevate how users engage on the photo and video-sharing app. It will offer the followers a sneak peek of the exclusive content.
Instagram’s new feature, currently in the testing phase, could open a new channel for brands to market their campaigns and products or even for users to share content with only their close friends.
While Instagram hasn’t made any official comment, its design account launched the announcement.
On the “Design” account, you’ll come across a reel with a key icon. The code for this specific reel was ‘Threads’ as attributed by the caption. You can unlock the reel by tapping “Enter Secret Code.” Once unlocked, the reel welcomes you with a banner that says, “Coming Soon,” hinting at the upcoming feature.
It’s interesting to witness the creative direction Instagram is taking. Scrollable content has become such a significant flare, and Instagram Reels have leveraged this to the maximum. So, with increasing numbers of users engaging with this type of content, brands are attempting their best to stand out – be it through YouTube shorts or Instagram Reels.
